The full moon hung ominously over the city as Ethan and Lucas, two college students with a penchant for the supernatural, sipped their late-night coffee at a dimly lit café near their university. The air buzzed with whispered tales of the infamous Ravenshade Science College, an abandoned medical school rumored to be cursed.

A frail, elderly man at the café leaned forward and spoke in a hushed tone. “That place… it’s not just haunted. It’s a portal to something far worse.” His voice cracked with fear. “They say the spirits of those who experimented never left.”

Ethan scoffed, brushing off the warning. “People love to exaggerate ghost stories.”

Lucas, however, was intrigued. “Let’s check it out. Just a quick look. What’s the worst that could happen?”

Fueled by adrenaline and curiosity, the duo set off towards the ruins of Ravenshade Science College, it’s dark silhouette looming against the night sky. As they crossed through the rusted gates, a biting chill wrapped around them, the air thick with the stench of decay.

The grand entrance was a cavernous void, its doors hanging off their hinges. Inside, the walls bore deep gashes, as if something had clawed at them in fury. The eerie silence was broken by the distant echo of dripping water.

“Maybe this wasn’t a great idea,” Ethan muttered, his breath visible in the cold.

Lucas, holding up his phone flashlight, stepped cautiously forward. “Relax. It’s just an abandoned building.”

As they ventured deeper, the air grew heavier. A faint whisper slithered through the corridors.

Did you hear that?

Lucas turned, his pulse spiking. Ethan nodded slowly. The whisper grew louder, now a chorus of overlapping voices, murmuring unintelligible words.

Then, they saw her.

A girl stood at the end of the hallway, her back facing them. Her long, matted hair obscured her face, her body eerily still.

Lucas took a shaky step forward. “Miss? Are you okay?”

The girl twitched. Slowly, her head rotated—far too much, far too unnaturally. Her eyes, hollow voids, locked onto them.

Her flesh rippled, dissolving like melting wax until only a grotesque skeleton remained, its jaw unhinged in a silent scream.

The room plunged into chaos. The doors slammed shut on their own, shadows slithered along the walls, and an unbearable stench of rotting flesh filled the air.

“Run!” Ethan screamed, dragging Lucas by the arm.

They bolted down the corridor, but the building seemed to shift around them. Hallways twisted, doors disappeared, and the whispers grew into agonized wails.

At last, they stumbled into a dimly lit foyer. Relief flooded through them—until a deep, guttural chuckle echoed behind them.

A man stood near the entrance, clad in an old security uniform. His presence should have been reassuring, but something was deeply wrong. His face—his skin—was melting, revealing raw muscle and bone beneath.

“You shouldn’t be here,” the guard rasped, his mouth stretching into a grotesque grin. His flesh sagged further, dripping onto the floor in sickening globs.

Ethan and Lucas screamed as the world spun into darkness.

When they awoke, they were in a hospital room. Nurses whispered nearby, their faces pale with concern.

A doctor approached. “You were found unconscious near Ravenshade Science College. What happened?”

The memories came rushing back, their hands trembling as they recounted the horrors they had witnessed.

The doctor exchanged glances with the nurse before speaking. “There is no security guard at Ravenshade Science College. The last one who worked there… was found dead thirty years ago.”

Ethan and Lucas sat in stunned silence, their bodies cold despite the warmth of the room.

“And the old man at the café?” Lucas asked suddenly.

The doctor frowned. “What café?”

The truth settled over them like a suffocating fog. The whispers, the girl, the security guard—none of it was meant to be seen.

And yet, something had wanted them to see it.

As they lay in their hospital beds, a faint whisper slithered through the air once more.

“You shouldn’t be here.”
